Got new issue of Vintage Life which I love - it had some good articles on 1920s & 1980s style plus burlesque artist, Miss Banbury Cross discussing her vintage home (would have loved more pics - in fact, I'd love a magazine that just concentrates on unusual/alternative interiors). The ppl behind Vintage Life are launching a new magazine in April called Unique Bride. (I'll have to try & look out for it even tho' I have no interest in weddings/bridal stuff I did used to love Black Meringue which was a similar mag).
Liked Inside Men about the armed robbery - thought Steven McIntosh was particularly good in it esp at the end when he said he didn't do the robbery for the money he did because doing it meant he said goodbye to who he used to be and became a stronger, harder person because of it (or words to that effect).
Also saw Third Star, another film w/Benedict Cumberbatch. In it he plays a man dying of cancer who goes on a camping trip with his friends. It's a bit slow in parts but I did think it was good esp his performance. I agree with what I read somewhere that they could have gone with a sympathetic portrayal of the saintly dying man but they weren't afraid to show someone who was angry and arrogant - all thro' the film they take the piss out of each other including him but then it takes on a more serious/darker tone at the end.
Keep meaning to say how much I love the Lana Del Rey album, it is gorgeous melancholy. I hope she releases Dark Paradise as a single at some point as I really like that.
