And More Geekage

Super Smash Brothers: Brawl. They relaunched the website a few days ago, and will be updating it every weekday. I'm excited.

The biggest tidbit of information they've released so far is the list of composers. 36 musicians. Thirty six. Nine of them are currently working for Nintendo; two of them are from HAL Labs. Nearly all of them have been involved in famous games with pretty music, and not all of them are Nintendo games: Chrono Trigger? Check. Kingdom Hearts? Check. Did NiGHTS have good music? We're talking some good stuff here--it's like they sent out emails to every musician in console gameland and asked them if they wanted to take part in a momentous occasion.

Perhaps the most surprising omission from the list is Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy), since on the previous incarnation of the website he was supposed to be doing the Brawl main theme.

Besides the staff, the only new information is a new item, the "Gooey Bomb." It's nice to know that they're reusing the Battlefield stage, though.

There are some delicious hints here, though. For instance, Yoko Shimomura? She did music for Kingdom Hearts... And also Super Mario RPG. Might Sora appear?--he was in a GBA game. Geno, anyone? I should have searched the internet for these names before two dozen entries on Smash Brothers Brawl littered the top search results on Google.
