( Snowing in Portland again this morning. )

Well, the space heater turned up last night. That was a life saver. Thanks to my benefactor.

I'm huddled this morning, waiting for the heater guy. Oddly, they're pretty much having a snow day in Omaha.

Back at the hotel packing. Off to DFW tomorrow, to spend a day/overnight with mom and dad. I'll be back in PDX on Sunday afternoon. It'll be nice to be home again, even if I am tearing off to RadCon three days later.

Also, I slipped and fell on an icy walkway outside the office today. No serious injuries, but I haven't felt quite right since.

...or maybe not. Omaha Beach Party tonight. We usually invade Zio's on Thursday. I'm telling you, we should switch to Wednesday. It was deader than a Baptist Church on Sadie Hawkins Day. 12 degrees and snowing here. Woke up dreaming that my dad had moved to India and become a McDonald's trainer. I was visting him there and accidentally got mixed up in a Russian mafia deal involving two dead guys and burned out Corvette. Now I have to go to the office and cope with the new outbound telemarketing rules.

Also, I am in Omaha, where it is tooth-numbingly cold. The 25 degree warm snap will occur tomorrow, then back down to low teens and below for the rest of the week.

Flight is delayed an hour this morning because it was so late coming in last night that the crew can't legally fly the on time departure. That gives me a fifteen minute connection time in O'Hare. (Ahem.) Meanwhile, in Omaha this week there will be a warm snap on Wednesday, driving the high temperature all the way up to a dizzying 29 degrees F. ( Read more... )

As mentioned earlier, it is snowing here at Rancho Lake. Past 2 inches of fine white powder snow now, the traffic seems to have given up out in the street, and the snow just keeps falling. All the neighborhood kids are out sledding in the park under the supervision of a very brave mom, most definitely including the_child.

Went outside this morning for my usual quick walk to the post office. I could hear something coming down from the sky -- snow, tiny hail, sleet -- because it was rattling the leaves in the garden. There were spots on the sidewalk. But I couldn't see it ( Read more... )
