so my sister needed Office 2004 on her new mac to do her homework. the versions I and all her friends gave her didn't work. so I sent her a link to download open office for osx, and the instructions on how to install X11 (the java needed to run it). I made sure to check the instructions were correct, and they were. My sister didn't read them, put ( Read more... )

thanks. I, along with 2 other people, sent her working copies of Office '04-- though there seems to be an issue with the latest OSX and the old microsoft apps, they are getting weird CarbonLib errors. Weird, because CarbonLib is a OS9 relic...

When I couldn't find any info on the error, I had her try Open Office, and the story picked up from there.
