So last weekend I headed over to vist
'ren in Donnie and see her play two gigs.
Here she is, playing cello in Donnie Minster.
I was hungover at the time, but I think she'd recovered.
We went out for a meal together on the Saturday night to a very twee but utterly lovely
veggie place.
But we also got drunk. Very drunk.
All in all I had a wonderful weekend.
Over the course of things I saw her sing, play cello very well (although, what I know about classical music you could write on head of a pin, and according to the talk in the car afterwards the piece was really dull. I enjoyed it all the same) and play bass far better than I could ever hope to do.
There are more pictures too.
These books were far too much a part of my childhood to be able to resist, unfortunately for
'ren as we happened to be in her place of work at the time, sorry lady. Not VERY sorry though.
Ahhh, so THAT's what shade of red it is!
I'm ever so hungover here... and yet there's a camera pointed at me. Actually... I sometimes think that maybe being hungover suits me. Ho hum
'ren was so hungover that she lost her head, literally. "Actually, Mister, I think I'm still drunk," she said. She may have had a point. Still, she didn't whine about her head half as much as I did.
In other news, I signed up for
Bowlie a little bit ago...
If any of you are feeling twee, or fancy chatting with lovely people, I heartily endorse it.
I even started a
Bowlie Eljay community... but it's early days yet.
This weekend I'm working on Saturday, urrrrgh, and then heading over to Nottingham for a clubnight there with a strong
Bowlie bent called
Don't Start Feeling All Romantic (now that's a good name).
I'm very excited. There will be nine bowlies there (unless
'ren can somehow be tempted, in which case it'll be ten) and some of them'll be DJing.
So... that's the plan.
