jayen aitch and some new additions

So, there are two new additions to my life.

Both are shown in this picture:

Firstly, there is my new scarf, knitted for me by my good friend Molly, who just now is in Chile, where it IS winter.

It arrived from Nebraska (where she lives) just the other day and put a large smile on my face.

I was late for work, I lost ten minutes trying to get into the very well wrapped parcel that contained it.

It's a beautiful scarf, made of love, and wool, and knitting.

This picture shows the second time it's been worn thus far.

But in September, when the nine-month English winter starts, I suspect it'll come into its own.

(and yes, I know what a poser I look like. I believe that adding a coat, winter, and a big jumper would fix that. But at this time of year it would also kill me with heat. I just wanted to show off the scarf some.)

The second new addition to my life, and my bedsit, is Edgar, the mystery plant.

Edgar was labeled as being a hebe, but I'm informed by experts that this is untrue.

(Amusingly I thought he was labeled as a hehe, due to a hand-writing related confusion. You see how little I know about plants? The guy who sold him to me did look a little bemused when I said 'oh, wow, it's a hehe plant'...

...and now I know why).

He is not a cannabis plant. I'm still reeling from the suggestion, there's not even a passing resemblance.

So, the question is...

Well, what manner of plant is he?

This is what his leaves look like up close.

Any ideas?

Anyone?

Really.

I'd like to know, mostly as I'm not very good at plants.

My plan to not kill him relied on my looking up what manner of flora he is on the internet, learning what sort of care he needs, and not leaving him anywhere dangerous.

While the last bit is still doable... his care will be a bit hit and miss for now.

In other news...

I visited my family this weekend, it was lovely. They really are nice people.

The food was good and I got drunkt too.

A lot of that was down to the Pimms that I drank in the garden.

I did say I would.

In many ways Pimms is what happens when I get to pick what shopping my mum is paying for.

While in the garden I took this picture, amongst others, of my dear Sis-a-star and her boyshape looking all sweet.

Looking sweet and making music all at once is pretty impressive.

Awww.

And that's about it really...

Now there'll be work all week, and then off to see 'ren play two very different gigs this weekend.

Yey.
