Toothy, ratty, tired.
I have a hole in my tooth. It made itself known last night so I hied myself to a dental clinic, which turned into a two hour trip through peak hour Brisbane. Oh the joy! ... actually the traffic wasn't too bad - I was going the other way for all the nasty morning stuff. But I wound up having to come back on Monday for my holey tooth and May 4th shall be the day of wisdom tooth dealing withness. Already I am ouchy and more than a bit worried about how that day's going to go.
I then came home and disposed of wallrat. I put in a rat trap last night and it certainly did the job. Wallrat had a magnificent tail, native rounded ears and died quickly. Poor little wallrat. I feel terribly guilty and relieved at the same time. Scrabbling is not a soothing sound!
We have moved the lab! No longer in the freezing cave that was the Michie building. We can now regulate our own temperature! We have natural sunlight! WINDOWS. It's pretty nifty.
I have started watching Fringe and am enjoying it muchly. Clearly it is one of those shows where jumping in randomly is not advised and going from the start will mean you will ADORE OLIVIA and THINK PETER IS PRETTY INTERESTING and WALTER IS CREEPY AND COOL AT THE SAME TIME (dude, seriously, stop experimenting on your kid! Not cool!) and ASTRID IS GORGEOUS AND COMPETENT HURRAH! Though I wish she had more to do. Speaking of my competency kink - Why hello there Agent Francis! I truly hope you continue to be awesome and hot and lovely. *tries not to jinx him* Bossman (... Williams?), I do not like you. The whole "I'm going to be a misogynistic arsehole because you put my rapist partner away" storyline hasn't really reared it's ugly head since the pilot and I'm hoping it continues to be ignored. He has moments of being cool bordering on nearly-awesome, but better pick his damn game up, even so. Hmph.
Did I mention I ADORE OLIVIA? Because I do. Though I queried her taste in men, given that Mark Valley has never done a damn thing for me, but that guy in Germany had potential.... so, it evens out I suppose.
(ETA: Dammit ep 11! What did I just say? UGH.)
And I saw the season 6 trailer for Doctor Who and made squealy noises and flappy hands and omgcan'twait and so forth!
