Internets!

I am now the proud owner of a cable! No more wireless issues, hurrah! I got so twitchy I experimented with internet on my mobile. That was weird and wrong and didn't work properly, but it's all ok!

We haven't flooded (yet) but are damn soggy and sick of it. The bridge over the river is still about 3ft off busting over. Hopefully that's as far as it goes.

Toowoomba got flash flooding and up north is getting hit hard. :( Stupid weather. (ETA: video at that link OMFG. D: D: D: ETA2: Oh gods, at least two people have died in the flash flooding and more are missing. The middle of the city is completely inundated with buildings taken out. D: D: This is not good. I've been in touch with friends up there, they're okay, if damp, but wow. This is just... D:)

I pulled a muscle in my shoulder on saturday and tried to fix it by drinking scotch. The gin club temporarily turned into the scotch club and it was lovely. I must now procure some Dalwhinnie for myself. Both the Yamazaki and Oban were a big hit - I opened the Oban! And it is delicious and light with a kick. Or something. Very good, at any rate.

I was in a grouchy mood this morning, what with the pulled muscle, the monsoonal rain just as I wanted to leave to get on a bus, the lack of internets (*clutches*) and also the entirely inadequate (for me, the directionally challenged) directions to the storage shed. But we got a lot done and are continuuing on Wednesday and hopefully all that stuff will get accessioned to the Qld Museum without too much hassle. The storage place isn't terribly useful though - there's a leak at the back of our ...erm... partition? Anyway, it's seeping through the concrete and sopped through some boxes. Most of the stuff is in plastic bags as well, but... displeasing.

And... apparently there's another Snowpocalpyse hitting America?? That's it. I suggest we turn the weather computer off and on again - see if that fixes it. :( :(
