{Semipoem} Unhallowed

Nov 02, 2007 20:07

Steathily, I heap soil on your corpse,
so you're not to be found.
No matter if it's forbidden, or--
it's just something I do.
Innocence is there, a sliver of it,
as a lightning rapture,
It can't be hidden too deep;
the temptation of your gaze.

Why on earth do we sin? Can you tell me, why?
Why are there punishments? Oh, please, tell me, why?

Whiteness shone through the night,
the tip of the bone I could feel.
A clear invite to the doom,
and the dark descending to kill,
Everything's vivid now,
just look and you'll see, it's so clear.
But they'll all disappear;
quickly,
soon.

Memories are what I am to keep --
locked up, pretty, and bound.
No matter if they are damaged, or--
it's just something I do.
In the depths of love, I'm crazed, you will see,
as your heart I capture,
I can't repress it at all,
these impulses have me dazed.

While I gather the pieces, shattered, fragmented,
The dream will end, for I have, I have waited.

Those who sinned are souls bereft,
knowing they can't fight, they just left.
Those punished are yearning for
too much they just can't have,
Abandon everything, those you love
and those you hold dear,
And just spin, just go 'round,
never
swoon.

Do you think I can laugh
when the morning's rays shine on me?
Laugh like I did, on that day,
unalloyed, happy and free?
I can only keep wishing,
wishing that alone, I won't be,
And that for everything,
I'll have the key.
(And that there's nothing I'll ever lose..)

A/N: Will probably record this tomorrow. :) Based on the ending theme for Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai -- anNina's Taishou.. Working off translation courtesy of atashi via gendou. There's some obscure rhyme pattern somewhere there (see if you can spot them. :P)..but the original song didn't -really- rhyme. I wish I understood more Japanese (or actually understood some Japanese :P) so I could do this better, but ah well.
