Belated Birthday Roundup
I really had a great birthday this year. Apart from the "omg I am only 2 years off 50" and the "must have my hair cut and streaked blonde again" panic attacks, I think I have settled in very well this past week. I've had time to take stock of all the gifts, and have come to the (obvious) conclusion that I am still a geek, just an older version of one.
Hubby took me to dinner at our favourite restaurant and gave me the Doctor Who Season 2 Box Set.
The eldest realized that I was never going to grow up and presented me with my very own Sonic Screwdriver pen and a (Talking) TARDIS moneybox (lol).
The youngest hoped that one day I would grow up and flourished an MP3 player under my nose.
My mother and mother-in-law knew better and gave me cash; with which I purchased Doctor Who Season 3 Box Set (ironically came out 2 days after my birthday), The Complete Doctor Who Encyclopedia, a pair of gold hoop earrings and Season 3 of Black Adder because I still can't go past Hugh Laurie being brilliant, even when House is making me want to kick the TV.
P.S. - Baked Mango Cheesecake is definitely the way to take the sting out of birthdays.
