This image began as the theme of Frodo on a dragon. Tolkien dragons are evil, and this one looks especially evil so it made me think about who, and what Frodo would have become if he kept the ring. When Peter Jackson was planning to have Aragorn fight Sauron he was going to make Sauron a beautiful young male - much like the idea of Lucifer as a fallen angel. I think this is how Frodo would have been - he would have kept his youth and his male beauty while the increasing evil would have been hidden underneath.
I confess I don’t know who painted this amazing dragon. He was part of my collection of fantasy paintings. I’ve only altered the neck - making it wider and more distinct in order to give my dark lord something to kneel upon. Frodo comes form the image of him looking at the ring after Gandalf throws in into the fire at Bag End. I’ve painted in extra hair to replace the top of his head which PJ had sliced off (his usual trick). The background stared as a screen shot from a screen saver, which I have trimmed and blended.
