The passed two weeks have been quite hectic, but rewarding. Of course there's taking care of offspring number 1 and number 2, but we shouldn't forget to mention my lovely wife, who was brutally victimised by a bunch of doctors in order to perform a c-section. As a result she's got to stay put for about 6 weeks, which means a considerable increase of chores on my part. Fortunately I'm too tired to list all of them, so, to keep a long story short, here's what we've been up to lately:

  1. First and foremost, we bought a car. Our very 1st car. The one you won't ever forget, they say. It's a Renault Scenic, and yes, that's a family car. (Somehow, I can't seem to get my eyes off of it when I'm around.)
  2. We saw Arcade Fire in Amsterdam! Forget about the Editors concert: Thís was exhilarating! After a close to perfect performance of opening band Wild Light, Arcade Fire came across a little messy and tired, but once they got over that phase, their performance was solid as a rock! Respect to Regine, whose vulnerable voice is quite something when used as a lead. Oh, and Keep The Car Running and Wake Up were thé best encores ever!! Moreover, the light show was very impressive and the crazy bandmembers were hilarious. What a night that was!
  3. We've booked us a city trip to Stockholm, Sweden in March, and we're taking Aukje, Michel, and Maikel along with us. None of us have ever been to Scandinavia before, so we're kinda anxious to go there.
After 5 days worth of parental leave I got back to work almost a week ago. It turns out that quite a number of students is aware of what happened to my family a fortnight ago. It's cool to hear their positive remarks when they see Puk's picture at my desk (Sorry, Sam, I'll put yours up there soon, okay?) and I proudly tell them about Puk. I guess you can say I'm pretty happy at work.
