If you had the chance to ask God one question, what would it be?
After Sean left for filming in New Zealand, I spent Saturday at the LA zoo with
Gio and his charming six-year-old daughter Lucia. We had a great time overall, although when we were watching a couple of Golden Eagles in what might have been courtship behavior, I heard Lucia say, "Papa, why is Uncle J sad about the eagles?" How do little kids notice these things?
Gio answered, "I think they remind him of his boyfriend, and he misses his boyfriend."
"What happened to his boyfriend? Did they get divorced?" and I said, "No, sweetie, he's just filming." and Lucia took my hand and said, "Filming is good, Uncle J. He'll come back soon. Papa always does. Then later you get to watch his movie. If it's not Only For Adults."
She reminds me of Sean's Ali.
They were kind enough to take pity on me and invite me to the Long Beach Aquarium with them on Sunday, where I learned the true nature of the desire for my company when Lucia said, "Uncle J, you know lots of cool stuff. Even more than Papa!"
Sorry, Gio, I know you try, but I just out-geek you.
