Though I think it's fairer to say you don't choose your fandoms, shows create their own fanatics. In my case I've been totally seduced by season 2 of Sherlock. Don't get me wrong, season 1 was wonderful and I went straight out to buy the dvd as soon as it was available but season 2 has surpassed it and left me distraught at not seeing any more until next year. Last night was woefully bereft of intelligent snarkiness and I am left with a Sherlock sized gap in my life. How in all that is holy does Moffat do it?
What worries me slightly more is that I'm wondering if we'll get more Sherlock if Moffat no longer has Doctor Who to take up his time - and Sherlock is winning. 'Tis treason, I know. I'm just hoping that the Sherlock on New Year's day scheduling becomes as much of a trend as Doctor Who on Christmas day. I shall look forward with baited breath.
