woooow look at this, i'm updating twice within the space of 4 months!! insane. ok i've done quite a lot of fun stuff but i'll try to keep it brief because my life is probably very boring to anyone else reading this.

i went to my mum's a couple of times to clear everything out, got about £100 for my cds from music magpie (daylight robbery they probably cost me 10 times as much) and charity shopped all my old clothes. also traded loads of books into amazon for £20 (again, total rip, and i spent the entire voucher on more books....doh).

watched rivalries support menzingers with pacer which was a super awesome night but the hottest night at the fighting cocks ever.

went to see the front bottoms THREE TIMES in the space of 6 days, so much fun! especially the last show at old blue last. seriously so many people missed out by not coming to see them. they are supporting menzingers at the borderline next month and it's gonna be batshit crazy great times.

went on strike which was very very exciting. well ok it wasn't and the picket was pitifully only 3 of us this time. but hey i did it and it had a fairly good turnout at our office.

went on a couple more union becs including an all day one with mandating meeting in stratford. was cool to get to know union folks a bit better, some nice people in there. also got megahammered with them after the mandating meeting and was sick all of the next day (oooops).

ross started at sports direct so went up north to train for 2 weeks, but only lasted about 4 weeks in the job. it sucked. but now he is working for maplin and is a lot happier, which is ace.

I WENT TO BRIGHTON FOR A WEEK FOR UNION CONFERENCE!! it was pretty great actually. went on a sunday and the weather was crackin and it just got better for the whole week. we went to the pier, to the beach, went out drinking every night, partied on down in peoples rooms at the hotel, and spent our expenses on nice meals. in fact because i wasn't really eating / drinking i think i turned a profit from it. it was so much fun, damn those old people can party. i found the actual conference really interesting as well, there were some excellent speakers, and there were a few political meetings in the evenings (although i wouldn't say i agreed with a lot of the messages at them). would like to go again sometime!

went for a cribbagey day in the park with d tobs, danny and vince which was great. the sun was out, we had a delicous and healthy picnic, and played cards all day. then in the evening i went to the black heart to say hi to zock and kim who were there.

the big boss of the jobcentre left, was kicked out to go to the nino hub, and was replaced by an interesting chap... but more interestingly i got a new boss in the form of a fast streamer who is actually a great guy. i've been giving him a hard time lately and i feel terrible for it. he's got his head screwed on right, he's a great laugh, and a thoroughly decent chap as far as i can tell. i am very glad to have him. although he did threaten me with a pip... we shall see how that battle of wills pans out.

went to applecart fest at vicky park but it was a bit of a washout to be honest. it was rainy and we didn't stay long despite paying an arm and a leg for tickets. still saw josie long and billy bragg though, it wasn't all bad.

decided to head to alicante on a whim. which really was a stunner. stayed in a megacheap apartment just outside of torrevieja, with a pool. wandered round various beaches and shops, and went to the waterpark which was exciting. ate some awesome food including tortilla and olives, and drank sangria. it was BAKING HOT. like so hot. even the people who lived there said we had gone on a cracking week, weather-wise. loads of leathery old ex-pats living there, i realised i can definitely see myself getting old in such a setting.

went to an sep meeting about the greek election stuff. saw d tobs and even her mum who is cool too. d tobs hooked me up with a lady who's going to teach me spanish in september.

went to peej's birthday celebrations. we ate yum ice cream then went to rowan's for bowling and karaoke. i actually sucked at bowling but karaoke was hilarious and fun. drank whisky. eurgh.

went to hackney weekend and was chilling with the likes of example and sean paul (lol). saw the skints and some alright people play.

went out for kathers birthday but had gone out and got a bit hammered with work peeps the night before so was hangin which i felt terrible about. luckily ross and adam got battered for me. went to regents park, then 55 and big red, and everyyyyone was a mess.

went to the village fair with my mum which was actually a total washout. it was raining and a lotttt less busy than usual. bought some cakes and soap and weird cat shit for lydia.

went to lydia's house which is really cool, just down the road in dalston. saw kate properly for the first time since uni, also caught up with kim and jon. turns out the guy who moved into their flat is a bit crazy ooops haha.

went to some launch of some jobcentre-related product in the city in some massive shiny building, i wish i worked somewhere like that.

saw rivalries at the pipeline which is a weeeird venue.

saw the olympic torch in hackney. on the way to the more important event of watching batman. which was cool.

i started to LEARN TO DRIVE. absolutely terrifying. stalled once in my first lesson, twice in my second. scary as hell.

went to westfield to get a haircut the day before the olympics started and saw baaare athletes wandering around. so weird. they are all MASSIVE and unmistakable.

hit up peking palace for some gooooood food.

watched the opening ceremony and saw the red arrows fly past my window about 2 seconds after they were on tv, and heard all the fireworks. surreal.

went to angel to jugs and aisha's first daytime gig thingy "game face" but powercut meant it was off. so just went and drank with katherland in the coronet all afternoon like the old men who live there.

saw lukey who was down to work a conference, ate cheesecake with him.

went to watch the olympics at vicky park... which again was a washout. what is it with me and my luck? gonna go back if it brightens up though.

had ross's birthday yesterday. made him a little birthday dinner with cake etc. it was nice.

off to visit vince tomorrow in oxford, pretty excited even though i have to head down in rush hour. then just seeing where the weekend takes me.

ps i am 25 next week and that is the most terrifying thing that has ever happened to me.
