While it feels a little odd to hop on to LJ merely to post political links, it's a better venue for broadcasting information to friends than mass-emailing, which i can't really bring myself to do.
Latest link: "The Real News" looks like a genuine attempt at independent television news in the USA, though they also do a lot of coverage of global issues (including a series of videos by Iraqi journalists about current daily life in Iraq called 'Alive in Baghdad' - interesting stuff). They also have coverage about UNASUR (thanks to Pfloide for posting about that one recently - amazing what doesn't get covered these days...)

Anyway, i find this an interesting project, so i'm passing it along. Folks with some extra cash floating around might want to push some of it their way - i like the idea of non-corporate, member-funded news.
