It has been warm the last couple nights. Warm enough that I have reverted to summer dress for bed. I'd thought a couple weeks ago that I had shed my clothes for good, but last week was surprisingly cold. As cold as a normal year--it got warm early this year for some reason. But in any case, it has been very warm this week. Hot, in fact, since most my outdoor time is spent on the unforgiving blacktop. Today I was miserable even in the shade of the concession stand, but I was quickly relieved by a spring thunderstorm that swept through with such speed it barely had time to hurl lightning before it was vanished over the horizon, and the cement was barely peppered by the torrential downpour it pouring out in it's flight. But anyhow, night has come, and with it a spring windstorm. My favorite. The wind is warm and fierce. I expected rain with it, so a little while ago I left my cozy bed to venture outside and roll up my windows. Being outside was wonderful, the wind was warm and powerful enough to feel like a physical force embracing you, not violently, just...inclusively, surrounding my bare skin with gentle kisses. I don't know how else to describe it....the softest, most wonderful sort of hug, surrounding and caressing every bit of you at once. I danced and danced in the waxing, intermittent moonlight, enchanted by the playful dancer of the wind, clad in the gentle embrace of nature's energy.
