All I want for Nampa Pride Day is my two front teeth!

Game was moved to Skyview again today, so I got to Central Services when they were open. It was really weird being inside that building; I'd been there many times, but I always just put my money in the drop box because they were closed. It looked disturbingly like the inside of the county newspaper's headquarters, except considerably less organized (I didn't think it was possible o.0 ). They apparently don't have much to do there. Which is interesting because there's a whole lot of them there. Ah well, it's pretty consistent with the rest of Nampa: lots of overhead, not much productivity. At least, I assume they don't have much to do there, because they all knew my name. And had been keeping up to date on my nightly concession reports. It's kind of interesting, working on terms I understand. And I know how bureaucracy works. they seem to appreciate my willingness to operate on their terms, too. Which seems really strange to me, because up until now "they" been a voice over the phone and someone I've talked to in real life for about 2 hours, but mostly a bottomless pit to which I write notes and receive what I ask for. I thought at first they would get kind of antsy when my requests started getting big and bulky, but I forgot how bottomless the pocketbook of Nampa. They don't seem to realize they're loosing money. At least on me. Yesterday I asked Nampa Clause for a new hot dog machine. Today the lady under the "Irrigation" sign said she was looking online for one. I wish her luck. What we have now is pretty nearly junk...and there's no way in heck it will be able to keep up with the demand. Skyview will have similar problems soon if it doesn't already now. And Skyview's machine doesn't heat them evenly (but it holds more than the 9 my machine does). So I'm keeping track of what items sell and what don't. I mentioned to Deb--Deborah (I need to stop calling her Debby; bad habit -- I dun think she likes it) that the peanuts aren't selling at all... The Irrigation lady (or maybe it was the Land lady, or maybe the Water lady--was there even a Water lady?) mentioned it to me. I think it's kind of disturbing that the whole office has nothing better to do than read my concession reports. Ah well...it just feels really strange going from Federal Government, where using a shovel required 15 forms with signatures from 23 department heads and a unilateral act of congress signed by the president and half the Cabinet, to the City Government, where I'm practically running my own business...the only reason I know I have a manager is because I call her occasionally. Like twice....

*yaaaaawn* Bed!
