So I went to work this afternoon and was kinda confused as I walked in and unlocked/disarmed everything. I was running a bit late; the game should have been starting right as I got there. It...wasn't. In fact, it looked like only one team was there. And it looked like a JV team at practice to my untrained eye. So I asked some random guy I found rooting through the stuff inside the secured area what was going on, and he said the game had been cancelled. Since I’d already been out to the southern facility to pick up the money, I was rather frustrated by all that work and driving for nothing. So I went in and found boxes all over the floor. It was better then yesterday when I went in and found water all over the floor (I was half expecting to find it again today :-3 ). So I stocked the boxes. 8 boxes of hot chocolate and 5 cans of coffee. Apparently my manager didn’t think the 12 boxes of hot chocolate and two cans of coffee were enough to get me through the high coffee demand that accompanies triple-digit temperatures. :-P I also got a box of mustard, which is what I had been asking Santa for, so I can’t complain. About then the owner of the park came in to say he was taking off. I called Matt and asked him if he needed buns, because I’d gone to Walmart and bought them entirely out of stock (again…you think they’d figure it out and buy more buns). He said he needed coffee (presumably to gear up for the summer rush :-P ), so I took him over some buns and three cans of coffee. After locking down the West Park facility.
Out at Skyview, it was nice to see Matt again. He seemed to be holding up. Skyview gets lots more business than Westpark. Of course, today there were three games going on simultaneously. That always brings in more business. But I was glad to finally have a good reason to go out to Skyview. I needed to pick up a letter for the West Park sign. I’d set it up the week before, and we seemed to have a big shortage of P’s, so I broke the tails off of two R’s and called it “DR PEP”. When I was cleaning up later, I found a “P”, an “R”, and an “O” under the coke machine. I considered finishing off the sign, but “DR PEPPOR” just looked stupid. I had no intention of running out to Skyview, disarming the place and then going through lockdown all just for the letter “E”, and not just because I’d feel like I was on “Sesame Street”. So I picked up an E this afternoon and a couple boxes which are still in the Beast because I was too lazy to throw them in either dumpster. Oh, I forgot to tell Matt to get more hot dog buns. Ah well, he’ll figure it out. I would have gotten some for him, but Walmart was already out of stock, and I didn’t want to go to the other Walmart in town because it was a ways away. As far as Westpark was from Skyview and the south facility. Just in a different direction. And because it required driving through Nampa (ick). So I filled out my cash report and drove all the way through Nampa to Central Services to drop it off, and then set off in a third direction, driving all the way through Nampa again to get to the church for the play practice that I would have been late for had the game not been cancelled, and which never happened anyways, but that’s another gripe. :-3 I did, however, stop by Cold Stone Creameries and have me a nice raspberry Sorbet. And probably got lactose poisoning by proximity. And the careless way they handle their ice creams. Ah well, that would be why they call it “cold stone”, I found out. Goodnight everyone!
