I discovered by accident at work a while ago that Kellogg brand Pot Tarts are Jari-safe. So I went to Walmart today to buy some, and was pleased (and surprised) to find that they taste much better (and are considerably cheaper) than the ones at work. The ones at work are bitter. I can't imagine how old they are. :-P
Anyhow, Tim and I went to Walmart together to get stuff (or rather, for him to get stuff and then for me to discover that each and every thing I came to the store for was either sold out or something they don't carry). I did get Pop Tarts, however, so it wasn't a total loss. :-3 Scooby-berry is a really cool flavor!
I've decided today was the universe's confidence day. As in confide/confidante. Ummm...I'm too tired to think of a better word. Anyhow, it started when Cristen told me about her sister who had leukemia, and how her mother was down there (in Georgia) with her. Cristen's normally kind of aloof towards me, but that and our discussion of a former employee was really a nice change. :-3 I told her I'd pray for her mom/sister. Tim also had several regulars tell him about the latest drama in their lives, but it all worked out, I suppose. Later that night, a girl was in waiting for her parents to come pick her up, and she told us all about her family situation and her dead brother, etc. It was a nice conversation, despite Tim's attempts to "live vicariously through her" (as Neko calls it :-3 ) by encouraging her to rebel against her parents. The way he talked about it made me pretty sure personal freedom was an un-resolved point of contention between him and his own father.
Anyhow, we went to Walmart, and in the parking lot, I met a high-school friend of mine. We talked for a little bit (I was hopping from paw to paw to keep from freezing to death), and he told me that his second kid was on the way, and that his mother had a heart attack. We talked about that for a bit, and I said I'd pray for her, too.
After Walmart, we got back to the parking lot so I could deposit him in his own truck and I spotted a girl/young woman walking by, so Tim asked her if she needed a ride, and they took off together. I headed home, keeping my eye open for more animals in the road (I'd stopped to pull a dog out of the road the night before along with an officer I'd been talking to earlier at work). Instead I found people in the road. Well, on the side of the road. It was a car with its emergency lights on, so I stopped and they were looking for a crowbar to trip the mechanism that held their spare tire under their SUV. I didn't have a crowbar, but I did have a copper pipe I'd purchased for a roll-able curtain rod, and it just happened to be exactly the right size, so they hammered the tip flat and it fit nicely into the mechanism. I had to get on home, but I hope it worked out for them.
The whole night I really felt God had a hand on everything, making sure it was all in order. Kind of like you know He's always looking, but sometimes you can just feel Him watching out for you and others. :-3 I felt used, I guess. In a good way, I mean. And I reckon I'll never find out how much He's used me to touch people in ways I never even guessed (I've been blessed in that sometimes I do find out later, or am given a glimpse, at least).
Enough ramblings, I still keep all of you, my dear friends, in my payers! Sweet dreams!
PS. I'm having a bad allergic reaction...just started. Sarah's still working with us, so my schedule is unchanged. I work (today), which means I'll get about 3 hours of sleep before I have to get up and go back to church and then work. LJ's down, so I can't post this. Goodnight all!
