...I love sushi. Today me, angela, brent, jessica, kristine, melody, raffy and roger went to maki maki for lunch. Maki-Maki's happy hour has now replaced Sushiya as my favorite sushi. All you SD heads should come up and try it sometime.
I missed my first Informatics lecture today to go eat sushi. Apparently it was the best lecture ever to miss, so I guess I'm good.
The AM lecture on the other hand was pretty useful. I think I finally did good on the quiz. I hope that starting this week, my increased academic efforts translate into better grades.
This morning as I was gathering my things before heading out to class, Derek was just waking up. He said my name and called me over. I thought he smoked too much weed last night and maybe something was wrong. And then this fool fuckin farted. Yeah, it's like that sometimes at the apt.
I'm excited about music that's been coming out and music that's about to come out. I haven't listened to the new john legend cd enough to get a real feel for it. A lot of people and critics seem to love the change in sound, but I think every goddamn time, with every artist I like, I always just want more of the same thing. Case in point: Frankie J. I loved frankie's first cd, front to back. It was all the same producer for every song. On his second, after being successful for a bit, he was able to get famous producers and mix it up, but I would have preferred a damn near replica of the first cd. His new one is more like the second; there's a few tracks I like, but damn, I'd rather just hear Happy Perez do his whole cd again.
And I'm lookin forward to the game and jay-z's new shit. The only question is if I'm actually gonna put the time in to thoroughly listen to this music and not just "skim through it."
The closest I've ever gotten to being lukewarm-ish excited about a white band's new release was the killers new cd. I like the piano intro and the single and a few songs, but I haven't listened to it enough to really like it or anything. Hell, I haven't listened to it in like 2 weeks.
When it comes down to it though, it's hard for new music to break into my usual playlist. Usually it's only a few songs here and there. I have listened to the same fuckin stuff every day for the past 3 years.
New Lost tomorrow, I'm pumped.
The PASS outreach stuff is goin pretty good. I have to say I'm enjoying myself at these things. It's made me realize how great mt. carmel was.
It's way later than I was hoping it would be. goodnight.
