Man I am loving it up here in the mountains. Since my wife didn't want to move out here I was looking for a way to have someone to at least ride with me in the uhual from Austin to 29 palms. So I offered to have her come out of a week or so and I fly her back. Well no to that too. So instead of trying to do the trip by myself, I told my parents what this marriage is really based on. They took it better than I thought they would. I expected to get a whole thing on how a marriage should be and morale crap... None of that. More, 'oh if we knew from the start, we wouldn't have had you do anything but sign the paper.'
Anyway once all that was over. I asked if I could have Tommy ride with me and fly back. They waited to give me an answer. They call back a couple of hours and said they have a cheaper offer. They rent a trailer and bring it to me and visit LA and Yosemite Park. So I said yes. Well we have been having fun.
In LA we went to the pier which was a lot of fun and ate Bubba Gump Shimp Co. We walked down the pier and saw seals. Oh yea it was the oceanwalk pier. It was wonder in the evening.
We are on the end of day two in a bueatiful log cabin up in the mountains near Yosemite National Park. I took over 200 pictures today and I have gotten more but I went back with Brooke because she was getting worn out from a small hike we took to see some giant trees. The bestest one I saw was an easy 100ft wide and 15 to 20 stories high and that one had a tree growing off one of its branches about 10 stories up. It was called the Grizzy Giant.
Yesterday we went to bridalvail falls. We walked up to the viewing area but that was about 1,000ft from it. So Tommy and I climbed up the rocks and got next to it but then the wind shifted and we were under the waterfall in a sec. The Falls started some 3,000ft up or more.
This trip has been one of the best I have ever been on. I want to come back up here with some of my marine friends and either go for some of the more tougher hikes or go rafting down the river. I love the idea of a place like this just a few hours drive from where I live. This is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. I am not kidding when I say you will never find anything like this in Texas. I even think the idea of moving up here and becoming a park ranger would be cool.
I will have some pictures up tonight on myspace, and more in a couple of days once i get back home.
btw this internet is my only connection to the outside world. Cell phones are dead here.
