Holiday From Real
Greetings from Los Angeles! Sorry I didn't get a chance to update this sooner, I've been fairly busy and the internet situation isn't ideal in the apartment right now. The apartment is nice though, I'm rrreally glad that we got a place that has real beds and real furniture. I was at a friends place the other day and they are stuck with air mattresses and lawn chairs, which would be rough. I also really enjoy actually staying in a place where I can make dinner that isn't from the microwave. It makes me excited for my house next year.
My Internship started yesterday. I didn't have a ton of work to do. I spent the morning uploading and checking the Rush Hour 3 trailer on as many video share sites as possible, which is a ridiculous amount. You think that there is like YouTube and Google Video and maybe a couple more like Funny or Die...NO! There are about 30+ video sharing sites, that all do the exact same thing. Then for the rest of the day I worked on researching websites for potential advertising. Its not glamorous, or necessarily creative, but its better than grabbing coffee, and I'm learning a lot about marketing and "creating a buzz".
Jetta Jr. has failed me again. After making it all the way out to CA, yesterday after my long day at my internship I was driving my car ready to get on the highway and the "EPC" light comes on meaning I can't really accelerate. Its like 0-60mph in 2 minutes. *sigh*, I gave it a little break and stopped in and grabbed a burger, and 30 minutes later it was ok, but having an unreliable car in LA is NOT a good thing. Turns out it wouldn't have matter much though because we didn't really get above 20 mph on the highway anyway because the traffic was so bad.
To be honest I'm not really thrilled with LA right now. I mean its tough because I haven't really had the time to do any of the fun stuff like go to the beach and I don't have the type of money to enjoy all of the shopping, so its a little frustrating. RIght now I'm pretty much just experiencing the huge amount of traffic and dirty city. I think it will grow on me though. RIght now I think I'm just really bummed because I'm not going to be with all of my friends on my birthday (fond memories of Cedar Point with JF are swirling through my head). I get to work a full day on Friday, mostly because I would feel weird asking it off since its only my second day, plus all of my friends are working anyway. I mean, I do have friends out here, but #1 I haven't seen them for months (some for over a year) so its a bit awkward, #2 I'm literally the only one under 21 in the group so its hard to go out with them. I need to call up Mike and Ed and see what they are up to.
But things are looking up. I will start AE soon, so that will keep me plenty busy, and we're going to the beach on Saturday and maybe some cool observatory thing, so that should be a fun time.
I miss everyone, and hopefully pictures will be coming soon. Don't hesitate to call, oh and if you want a post card leave your address here. I'll try and get some written soon. Peace!
