I hope / should

長い間に日本語を勉強したが、「I hope」とどう言いますかまだ知りません。　このことを教えてください。

I've been studying Japanese for a long time and I cannot wrap my head around how to say "I hope."

As in, "I hope he is okay." "I hope I can go." And so on.

Can this be accomplished with 。。。を願っています?

My next question is the word "should." For instance, "How should I write this?" Would this be これをどう書きましょうか？
