Big Bang T-shirts set Uniqlo sales record

On February 5, the BIG BANG's collaborative Uniqlo T-shirts went on sale. At the specialty UT Store in Harajuku, where one of the three floors was reserved for BIG BANG items, reports say that more than 1,200 people lined up from the night before until the store's opening. The resulting rush set a new record in Uniqlo history for highest single-day sales of an item, both in quantity and revenue.

The sales included 10 different T-shirts in typical men's sizes, plus an XS size intended for women. There were also limited-edition designs available only in certain stores, such as the UT Store Harajuku and Uniqlo Shinsaibashi.

The collaboration, meant to help promote the group's upcoming tour in May, also had giveaways for customers. Special chaku-voice and movie downloads were given to all customers, and a lottery was held to give away concert tickets and posters.
