Megumi Yasu named Aomori Apple Queen
Actress Megumi Yasu, 29, has been selected as this year’s Aomori Apple Queen. Donning an apple-red coat for the occasion, Yasu extolled the health virtues of apples and unveiled the new “Brainpower Up” PR campaign for the Aomori apple industry.
“I eat apples almost every day,” she said. “So I’m very happy to be chosen for this award.” She will receive a year’s worth of apples from Aomori apple growers.
Naturally, talk turned to romance, with someone hinting that apples are the fruit of enticement. “I don’t know about that,” Yasu said. “My goal was marriage by 30, but that looks impossible. Hopefully, if I live a fulfilling life this year, someone will come my way.”
