Nakai Masahiro shows fighting spirit for upcoming special drama “Aji Ichimonme”
A press conference for upcoming special drama “Aji Ichimonme” was held on January 4th, and cast members Nakai Masahiro (SMAP), Yamamoto Yusuke, Kanjiya Shihori, Takahata Atsuko, and Kobayashi Nenji all showed up.
“Aji Ichimonme” was a popular drama series back in 1995 (the first series),\ and in 1996 (the second series), and there were two special dramas broadcasted in 1997 and in 1998. Nakai Masahiro starred in all the series, and he will once again after 12 years away.
It’s a story of an itamae (a cook in a Japanese kitchen), Ihashi Satoru (Nakai), who was in training to become a cook. For this drama special, it will fast forward to 12 years later in which Ihashi, who is now at a high position as Itamae, tries to save the restaurant “Kikkaan”, which is accused of false advertisements of their food by the media.
At the press conference, Nakai saw a bigger poster of “Aibou” (popular ongoing drama) than of his drama’s poster, and showed great zeal by saying, “They have a bigger poster than ours! I want to defeat ‘Aibou’!” Thus, putting quite a lofty set of goals on his show.
The New Year’s drama special “Aji Ichimonme” will be broadcasted on January 8th.
