On December 3rd, Tackey & Tsubasa’s Takizawa Hideaki held “Kagami Biraki” (Japanese traditional ceremony of cutting New Year’s rice cakes) with Nishikiori Kazukiyo (Shonentai) and Nakayama Yuma (NYC) on the stage of “Shinshun Takizawa Kakumei“, which opened on New Year’s Day at the Imperial Garden Theater.
This year is the 100th anniversary of the theater, and “Shinshun Takizawa Kakumei” was chosen as the opening work for the 100th anniversary. Takizawa commented, “I’m honored to be on the stage as the opening work for the 100th anniversary. I will try my best to carry these 100 years, which was built up by great seniors, to next generation as well.“
“Takizawa Kakumei” was first played in 2009, and this is the third year that the show will run. This year, Nakayama Yuma was chosen as a new cast member, and Takizawa and Nakayama are playing brothers. Nakayama was chosen by Takizawa’s appointment, and Takizawa revealed the reason of the appointment was that he wanted to co-star with Nakayama, as he believed that Nakayama could be the next generation.
Takizawa is known for giving “Otoshidama” (Japanese custom of giving money to children on New Year’s Day) to his juniors every year, and he mentioned that he gave “Otoshidama” to 60 juniors this year, showing remarkable generosity.
