Ishihara Satomi now 23cm taller thanks to “Arabian” dress
Today the actors Ishihara Satomi (23), Tanihara Shosuke (38), Oshima Yuuko (21) and mangaka Kaitani Shinobu (Liar Game) introduced the new comedy-mystery drama "Reinoryokusha Odagiri Kyoko no Uso" that is based on one of Kaitani's manga.
The highlight of the little press conference was to see Ishihara wearing her unique "Arabian" kimono kind of dress for the first time in public. After looking at the dress, people immediately noticed that something seemed different when she was standing right next to the 183cm tall Tanihara. The 157cm short Ishihara must be wearing some impressive shoes under that dress, because at the event it looked like as if she was 180cm tall.
"From getting the dress put on to actually wearing it in public, everything feels very nice and not too different from a wedding dress," Ishihara commented on the dress.
In the drama Ishihara plays Odagiri Kyoko, a fake psychic who appears on a regular TV show to solve various criminal cases. Her stage name is "Odakyo" and on the TV show she's always wearing that showy and gorgeous dress. The viewers believe that she's a real psychic, but she's actually just using gathered intelligence to find the answers to the cases. Tanihara plays a fan who finds out about the secret and ends up working for her to maintain her lie on TV while Oshima plays the tsundere president of the production company she took over from Odagiri who inherited it from her father.
Oshima about her first role in a comedy drama, "My current excitement is probably at the same level as my most exciting moment ever. There will be a lot of different sides of me that you rarely get to see and I hope that you will be surprised by all the the excitement I've put into the role."
