record breaking ...

Yesterday we broke a daily temperature record in Buffalo. It was 68 degrees F. Today were back down in the 30's.

Brad spent the night and this morning helped me pack up my closet. He also took some books and Tori flats off my hands, and also took my old Ginger Spice barbie doll as a gift for Jill. I took some old books to the used book store down the street and got $15 credit. I bought some old San Francisco travel guides and Margaret Atwood's The Blind Assassin to keep me entertained while on the road.

We decided to drive into Chicago the first night of the trip to eat at the Chicago Diner. This will make it easier for my Chicago friends to meet up with me.

So far packing doesn't seem all that difficult. I arranged to sell off my bedroom furniture and possibly my washer and dryer and could make $300 on the deal, which would be enough for gas for the drive were not for the record high prices. My dad shipped me the turtle compartment for the top of my car. It's actually called an "X-Cargo" and has a cute picture of a snail on it. So witty!

On the job front, my phone interview last week went good and bad. Due to differences in credentialing in New York and California, it doesn't seem like I'd be a good match for the job I was interviewing for, but I made a good impression and she said she'd keep me in mind for other positions. She also told me I'd have no problem getting work and that she sure I'd do really well there.

(sigh of relief.)

I've since sent my resume in for a job in Oakland at the National Brain Tumor Foundation. Interesting. eh? The VP of Development at my current agency has a connection at the Stop AIDS Project in San Francisco and is sending my resume to him.

Overall, things are going just as planned, except for a delayed cell phone order I placed last Monday. As of today, that appears to be resolved, I hope.
