brick quote of the day: "restless people and tectonic plates"

fortune of the day (you get these when I go for chinese for lunch ;):"you will make many changes before settling satisfactorily"

current project:none. nil. zip. 0. nadda. not a one.

yeah. Im being lazy today. all ive achieved today is almost finishing about 30 games of minesweeper (and I dont even want to begin to count the ones I didnt almost finish). I havent won one yet... but cut me some slack. I play a custom setup that is much harder than "expert". bet you couldnt even get as far as I do.

I managed to fall down the stairs yesterday. it hurt. theres this massive bruise on my head and I cant rest my left arm on anything. cause that hurts. wasnt as bad as my leg tho. it was fine last night, but this morning I moved my leg and it felt like I had just forcibly ripped my muscle off. or maybe like some rabid animal with super heated metal teeth was tearing into it. I was too scared to try to bend it again for about an hour, and I was hobbling all morning. it seems to be better now tho.

my dad got a book that was actually well worht my time. Mac OS X KillerTips (for 10.3. go panther)
its 310 pages of just the little cool features that increase productivity, make the more annoying features less so, helpful features, and even a pranks section (so very fun...must find someone to pull them on...). cool stuff like moving finder windows without making them active, navigating not only inside a folder, but up and down the tree structure with arrow keys, insta activating spring loaded folders, S L O - M O animation mode (that apple threw in purely for fun), mouse activated expose, killing hiding hideothers and selecting open apps in a few keystorkes without use of the dock, showing only the minimized documents pertaining to current active aplication in the dock, using folders in the dock to save space when using lots off apps of the same type, system preferences without ever opening the system preferences window, prevent stuff in the dock from moving out of the way if you want to drop a document onto an icon, forcing a file onto an app even if panther says it wont open that file type, drag and drop print set-up, the magic disappearing goto field, general info windows revamped split personality, pumping volume up above system maximum (goota love that one), OS 9 icons that ARENT jaggy, screen capture just a window, copying just the format of a peice of text but not the text itself, the 3D colorsync lab plot that has absolutly no use other than to look cool, shutting up the "are you sure you want to change the extension?" dialog box, playing animated gifs in preview (!!!)...the list goes on and on. Im not going into any of the pranks, because my victims must be unsuspecting.
oh, I cant forget the greatest safari one tho..tabs. keep different windows in one window with tabs along the top, and when you start safari have it auto load preset tabs so you can just tab flip through all those things you constantly check right off the bat, like gaia, DA, LJ, email... the specialness, its too much. HA. and I managed to waste another 45 minutes writing this. just like 20 more minutes, and Im outta here and get home early. very happy. peace out.
