I had a wonderful week back in Wenatchee, and a part of me is sad that I'm back here in Olympia. Now, I like Olympia and all, but Olympia and everything here contains my present and future, and with Wenatchee I can delve back into parts of my past. I think Wenatchee contains a part of my future as well, but for now it's just a nice comfortable place to escape to.
I saw a lot of friends, which made the trip. When I got into Wenatchee on Wednesday I got a call from Brian Harms and he was getting a group together to go float the Wenatchee river. I was only home 20 minutes before he came to pick me up. I had never floated the river before, so it was quite the experience for me. I loved it! Plus I got to catch up with some friends, like the Toms.
Friends of my family's from Bend came to visit us Thursday evening. They have a daughter who is 18 and in school at Southern Oregon, so it was good chatting with her and swaping war stories about college. She was quite the talker, I hardly got a word in the entire night. She use to follow me around like a puppy when we were younger and she use to piss the hell out of me.
Friday I went and saw Gavin's concert at Cafe Mela. He is such a talent musician, and I really hope to see him succeed in the music business. There were a lot of high school friends there to support him, so it felt like a mini reunion. I went with KC, one of my best good friends from Wenatchee, and after the show we went back to Odie's. We had plans to go to the drive in with a group of people, but unfortunately the movies were changed and we didn't really feel like seeing Spiderman 3 or Surf's Up. So we got together with some more friends, like Nicole and Mikaela at CCA's back playground. We did some hard core swinging. It was amazing. It's always nice catching up with people as well. It's funny how some friends you can just pick back up where you left off, and with others it is like starting from step 1. I guess it all depends on the person and how well connected you are with them. I guess it also matters how important it is for you to want to stay connected with those people.
Saturday we had another float down the river. This time it was with 12 people though! Big crowd! The best part was watching Austin and Michael share a small raft and practically sink every 20 minutes. These are two 200lbs boys sharing a kids raft. Hilarious. I also went and saw "Ratatouille" with my folks in the evening. I thought it was a very cute movie, but not one I could see younger kids getting all that into.
Sunday I got my hair dyed to a blonde color. I really like it a lot, it makes me feel like a whole new person. And I got some time to chat with Heidi, so that's always a plus. Afterwards I went over to Austin's for a steak BBQ. I miss that boy in the school year. It was great seeing him, I don't think I'll get to see him again until next winter break. Same goes for a lot of my friends really.
And now I am back in Olympia feeling bored out of my mind. I don't work until 5pm tonight, so I have nothing to do but sit on the computer and update my liverjournal. A dying art.
I don't want to feel forgotten anymore.
