Last night I went and saw Alison Krauss in concert at Marymoor Park. It was an amazing concert, she has a beautiful and powerful voice. The concert was packed and I think they might have sold out. Alison sang some of my favorite songs, and she concluded the night with "When You Say Nothing at All". She was great! Ryan, Ashley, and I drove from Olympia and met my mom and my aunt and uncle at the venue. My dad was suppose to be there but he was out hiking Mt. Rainier with some of his buddies. We figured we would have heard from him by 3pm but we didn't until 11:30pm! I can't tell you how scared I was for him! I love my dad very much and to think that he might be in danger was very hard for me. I had trouble enjoying the concert sometimes because I was too busy worrying about my dad. At one point my mom turned to me and said she was worried. Then Alison sang this song about two young brothers getting lost and dying on a mountain and telling their parents from heaven that they were alright. That song couldn't have come at a worst time! I started crying for fear that my father was not alright. Fortunately he called at the end of the concert and we all felt a lot better, but it gave me such a humbling feeling to realize that the people I love the most in this world could be gone in a flash.

So I was able to sleep easy last night after I knew my dad was safe and heading back to Wenatchee. But in the morning we get a call from him saying that he was awoken at 7am by a cop stating that a horrendous forest fire was right up the ridge and that our house was on a level 3 evacuation. That means a strongly suggested, but not mandatory evacuation. My mom drove back to Wenatchee and her and my dad packed up all our stuff. I guess the fire is diminishing now, but all this afternoon it has been everywhere, and burned up the ridge just a short distance away. I think everything will be okay though, the forest firefighters have it mostly under control now, the only thing that could make the fire erupt again would be a sudden change in the wind. I will keep you all posted though.

So a lot of anxiety this weekend, but so far everything has turned out just fine. Now I'm sitting my house being lazy because I have the house all to myself! This never happens so I'm taking full advantage of it! I'm coming back into Wenatchee this wednesday, so call me if you're around friends!
