Well, I'm back in Washington after a wonderful vacation to southern California. It was equipped with some chill time with Mickey and a chance to be on the Ellen show. Everything was amazing! Ryan and I had so much fun in Disneyland! We rode pracitally every ride at least twice. I mean, we did Disneyland up right this time! 3 days, two parks, 11 hours spent daily at both of them. By far the best rides were space mountain, tower of terror, pirates of the carribean, the matternhorn, and screamin' california. Space Mountain and Screamin' were both revamped with Red Hot Chili Peppers songs playing in the speakers during the roller coasters. It just gave the roller coasters a little kick. I loved it!
I was glad to have Ryan there this time. I have never been to Disneyland or world with Ryan, so that was a real treat. Plus my folks love the land just as much and had a great time too. My dad repeatedly said though that he wants to go someplace new for a vacation, and would be perfectly fine if he doesn't revisit Disneyland until he has grandkids. Oh well, what can he do when his daughter will be working at Disneyworld next year? I know he'll come visit, he can't not.
My buddy Austin was able to join up for some Disney adventure on Sunday. He's going to a film school down in California and so he lives real close. I love that guy, he's great. I think he had a lot of fun, and I know he's been homesick this year so seeing some familiar faces probably was good for him.
Ellen was an experience all its own. I'd never been to a taping before. We had to wait about 2 hours until we were able to be let into the studio. When we got in an escort sat us in the middle row, second from the back. If I had it my way I would have sat on the side, but we didn't get to request anything. Before the show began a man came out to get us all pumped and made us dance for about 10 minutes. By the time Ellen finally came out most of the audience was sweating. Then every other minute the man had us cheering, or dancing, or laughing. It's not easy being an audience member, let me tell ya! Ellen had Larry King on the show, which was awesome. He's such a small little old man! She also had Lindsey Buckingham, from Fleetwood Mac, on the show as well. I'm glad we got to see a musical performance, those are always so neat. Ellen gave everyone in the audience Lindsey Buckingham's CD, as well as our own copy of the movie "The Queen". Thanks Ellen!
Okay, now that I'm back I need to catch up on all the work I didn't do while I was gone. I just finished reading "The Joy Luck Club" for my contract, and I really enjoyed it. It was way more different than I thought it was going to be, but in a good way. The author had a very unique way of telling the stories of 8 Chinese women. Now I'm beginning "Catcher in the Rye". Believe it or not, I never read it in school. WHS was so conservative!
