Monsoon season

So yeah, lots of rain earlier this week. And the backyard has been improving, and loved the rain. A few pics for progress illustration.

We did not entirely flood like more southern parts of Texas, thank goodness. But if you google Lubbock and rain, I bet you find some pretty impressive pics. My backyard only filled up a bit, and it drained fairly soon.

This afternoon it's looking very green and happy.

Many, many baby figs.

And even more baby grapes.

Tomatoes are blooming, herb garden is much better established now. I have new raised beds in front of the deck on both sides, with some galliardia, salvia, few other things. Pots of this and that. The landscaping guy brought me some sod to fill in where we removed the pavers for the old patio, right before the rains, so hopefully the grass will grab on and take.

Planning on weeding the vegetable bed tomorrow early and mulching, and planting my sweet potato vines in the over-railing planters on the front porch. After that we'll see.
