Shit, it could be a 'verse. I mean, not to get all grandiose or anything, but people could play there. I...have thought of little else today, honestly. Sorta fleshing it out in my head. What are your thoughts? (Although if you are writing right now? Please to be continuing and ignoring this comment. *g*)
I like Gil as a physician; if I recall correctly (not mixing Greece with Rome) physicians were sometimes slaves or indentured in some way to particular houses. Nick could be a Senator's by-blow, raised in the Senator's large family household until he started to attract attention, being the good-looking boy he is. Then the Senator ships him out of Rome, perhaps to some seaside town or to northern Italy nearer the Alps--someplace he'd be out of the way, but the Senator could still keep tabs on him. For an angsty touch, Nick comes down with some illness in this new place (anything from a seafood allergy to pneumonia, I guess) and Gil is brought in to attend him and is attached to the household.
What am I thinking? WHAT ARE YOU DOING WASTING TIME TALKING TO ME?!??
Ahem. Tee hee.
Yesyesyesyesyes!
Honestly, my own head is going a totally different direction, but LET'S HAVE BOTH. ::bounces:: (Although, I dunno, mine may die in the idea stage. But still. BOTH!)
