Taking a sort of break tonight from the manic sewing of the past few weeks. I would really like to make some Middle Eastern garb for us, but I haven't researched it yet, and don't want to do a half-assed job. Gosling #1 has fabric and a plan, so we'll get her together. Think I will try to get Gosling#2's collar started too. Maybe even get a start

Heh, heh, heh... And attending royalty makes it difficult, too. Been there, done that. Actually, working up signals with your attendants means you can be 'called aside for an emergency' whenever you need it. Scratching an elbow does not always mean your elbow itched.

That would assume that we had attendants. We've been playing SCA for so long with just ourselves that we feel weird asking others to help out. I know we need to get over it, because we now have obligations to others to be places/do things/ support the populace that really means we need some assistance. I think I'll put out a request for brain storming for the next At Home and maybe collect some actual retainers. And I thought we had a good grip on what was required as B&B.

You do know that you can call on LLT and me for retainer help right? Well not Saturday since we have guests coming and LLT plans to be in the kitchen, but most any event...

Did anyone respond to your call for retainers in the Drekkar? I hope somebody read the Drekkar.... (Waaah!)

Also, your predecessors DID pass along the spiffy baronial dayshade with the Storvik arms painted on, did they not? Just checking.

No one specifically responded. But we're planning on being a bit more specific before the next At Home.

We do have the day shade and pennants, etc. What we are looking at is people power to get the entire encampment set up, along with getting used to the routine. Once we get a routine established bout what goes to which event, we'll have standard load lists to work from. I just don't want to totally spaz the first few times.
