Proud mama and Sapphire News

While we were only at Sapphire Saturday and part of Sunday, and stayed at the Econolodge. there was much excitement.

Andrew took part in the Sapphire pool that included no shields. His favorite form is pole arm, and he was able to borrow a much nicer one than he had. He is now going to create his own ASAP. We had watched as best we could, but his bouts kept getting blocked from view. And they came up so fast! I'd get up, and they would be done. Pout. He enjoyed that the King fought the bye rounds and got to see *his* favorite move used against him. He really tried for a double kill but there was no way. We dragged chairs over to watch the ravine battles in the afternoon to be sure we had a good view. He had a good time and did a fine job of doing 'I'm just a big slow jock - don't pay any attention to me' and killing more than his fair share.

We left noonish Sunday so that we could get home and cleaned up to get up to Balticon and the Markland Reunion. I got to see people I hadn't seen since Amber was a baby. It was wonderful and connections were reforged. It was All Good.

As we were nearly home from Sapphire, Andrew called to say the melees for the day were over. (He had debated about fighting in them due to heat and tired). And that the King had given him a Shark's Tooth! He had fought on the King's team, but he told me that it was the Prince who noticed. We haven't gotten a full report yet, as he just called to say he is leaving as soon as his canvas finishes drying.

My regret is that we were not there to see it happen. I'm going to put out a request on the MR to see if anyone happened to take any pictures. It's a long shot, but all I have.

In Storvik news, Jocelin won the Sapphire prize for chivalry on Saturday. He has been doing such a spectacular job and progressing so well I was not surprise. Vivat!
