Mozart is God and Desmond is his prophet

While discussing yesterday in the writing meme,
elliotsmelliot suggested me to actually give totally in to my Desmond/Mozart madness and to actually make a soundtrack for the opera sections I used in Make Your Own Kind of Music (aka a fic based on those three seconds of Mozart that Des was listening on the boat) and well, you know, an offer you can't possibly refuse? So hereby I present you all the Mozart that I implied he was listening to there/that I used to divide the sections. Of course, if you didn't read the fic but want to indulge yourself with the Mozart goodness under the cut, hey, it's there for grabs! ;) So under there is the list, further information with artists and all that jazz and a translation where I could provide it.

1. from Don Giovanni, Ouverture
2. from Don Giovanni, Act 1 Finale
3. from The Abduction from the Serraglio, Quartet 'Ach, Belmonte, ach, mein Liebe'
4. from The Magic Flute, Aria, 'Dies Bildnis ist bezaubernd schön'
5. from Le Nozze di Figaro, Aria, 'Voi che sapete'
6. from Così fan tutte, Act II Finale
7. from Don Giovanni, Act II Finale (the statue scene), 1
8. from Don Giovanni, Act II Finale (the statue scene), 2

1) Directed by Claudio Abbado with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. Thankfully strumental so no need for translation.
2) Directed by Lorin Maazel, with the Chorus and Orchestra of the Paris Operà. It's actually from the soundtrack for Joseph Losey's Don Giovanni movie, which is IMHO opinion great and featured my personal favorite Don Giovanni aka Ruggero Raimondi. No translation because I couldn't find it but I can do it myself if needed.
3) Directed by John Eliot Gardiner, with the English Baroque Soloists. The part I used was somewhere at the beginning and it doesn't have anything to do with the rest of the fic since it's actually two couples that reunite and the two males have doubts about their fiancées fidelity. I couldn't find a translation and I lose at German so I can't offer more ;)
4) Directed by Georg Solti with the Wiener Philarmoniker, sung by Uwe Heimann. And for this one, we have a translation!
5) Directed by Neville Marriner with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, sung by Agnes Baltsa. Note: this was the actual track played on the Elizabeth and we can thankfully find it translated at Lostpedia.
6) Directed by Georg Solti with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. The translation of it all is actually in the fic, at the start of the second-to-last section.
7/8) Same discourse of track #2. Ruggero Raimondi as Don Giovanni, José Van Dam as Leporello and John Macurdy as the statue. Partial translation is in the fic at the beginning and the end, but I can do it all if needed ;)

Oh, and BTW, if you want to entertain yourself and see what I mean about tracks 7/8, a couple of people uploaded the finale from Losey's movie on YouTube. The audio is a bit off but this one was the one with the best video and well, it's good for getting the drill ;)

I should definitely be thankful for my mother spending her life collecting classical music, hell yes. And now I'm allowed a movie night with the prophet y/y? ;)

fanfiction, fanmix, mozart is god, opera, i really do love desmond
