1. First thing, quick fic rec for anyone who might be interested (idk how many on here are into both, but it's so brilliant I have to share): this is an ASOIAF/Father Ted crossover where Stannis, Renly and Robert are priests living on Craggy Island and it's the most beautiful crossover that ever crossovered in every history of crossovers. Seriously ( Read more... )

100% agreement on everything SPN - yes, it had continuity errors, but it wasn't enough to interfere with my veiwing and/or enjoyment of the episode, so, largely, I can move past it. (And 10000000% agreement on keeping Kevin and Crowley, and getting Benny back). Also, I will eagerly be awaiting your Benny and Balthazaar coda, because that combo can only be amazing.

Yeah same - or better, I'd be bothered if it wasn't a known issue XD I like it better when there aren't glaring continuity errors but if there are I usually just shrug and go on since it's no news. And other than that I really enjoyed it, so :D now I just really hope we can keep the people I want XD and lol at some point I decided that it's a travesty that Benny & Balthazar never met because between the snark, the accents and commiserating over their bffs not having fessed up yet IT WOULD BE GLORIOUS, so I decided that I'm hitching them up and that's it ;)

I really would have liked to have seen so much more of what happened in Purgatory - I mean, if you can get to the exit in 1 day or so from where Sam appeared, Dean must have spent MONTHS just looking for Cas, either alone or with Benny, and that would have been so interesting to see on screen, at least for an episode or two. As more than a flashback, at least.

And angels. I'd have liked to have seen the dead angels in Purgatory. I guess you could make an arguement that, since they were never ensouled, they would never wind up there, whereas the monsters who do once had souls, but still. Balthazaar and Benny would be great - or both of them and Gabriel!

(On a side note, what do you think of the theory that's floating around that Gabe might have something to do with the video game-esque episode that's coming up in a few weeks? Because no one ever stays dead on SPN, not even angels, and the writers have know how much we all love him...)

Yeah me too, I think they should/could have had a lot more of it D: and yeah exactly omg I can't even take the idea that Dean looked for Cas for so much time - MY SHIPPER HEART ;______; also I suppose that he must have looked for a while with Benny or they wouldn't have been that tight when they got out ( ... )

Gabe makes everything better. Most the time. Sometimes the gratuitous Sam/Gabe is just, well, gratuitous, and that's usually how it winds up when Gabe plays a large part in most fics. Le sigh.

I just got back from boot camp last week, so I've been out of the loop for a couple months, so I'm not really sure. It would be AMAZING if Gabriel comes back/has a part in that episode, but I'll survive (somehow) if he doesn't. Though he and Charlie could be another lethal mixture.... ::ponders ponderously::

But you're right, Benny and Dean must have looked together for months before they finally found Cas. Their bromance is one that truly should've been explored further by the writers.

Oh he totally generally does. XDDD siiigh I hope they bring him back indeed. THOUGH I'D LIKE BALTHAZAR BACK TOO AT THIS POINT. (Sorry, I just really REALLY liked Balthazar damn it, damn him and damn his accent.)

That thing about RSJ being on set was around on tumblr like last week, but it was without source so I have no idea if it was a fake or not - I hope it's not though. :D this season they seemed to have understood that killing ALL supporting characters is bad so we can hope?

Siigh I wanted more of that too actually. And more Purgatory. I was into this bromance thing a lot D: especially when.. well I usually tend to ship it when they're close friends but with those two I was just like OMG THEIR FRIENDSHIP IS SO *PURE* AND BEAUTIFUL AND I WANT THEM TO BE BROS FOREVER so idk it was nice to just friendship it. XDD I can only hope that next year Benny comes back *and* that since Sam won't be as against it as he used to be they'll have their bromance again ;_;

Balthazar was brilliant, no doubt about it, and his accent was SEXY AS HELL, but in the grand list of my all time favourite angels, he's still number three, below Cas and Gabe.

I think they've finally gotten it into their heads that killing all the supporting cast is bad - I mean, how many people from past cases have we seen in the last few episodes of S8? The guy from "Man's Best Friend With Benefits" (though honestly I didn't remember him). Krissy. Meg (bad example). Charlie in "LARP and the Real Girl" and the upcoming episode. With luck, we'll see Aaron again.

As much as I loved the Benny/Dean bromance, though, the Dean/Charlie bromance is my new brotp. Both characters are just so perfect and so exactly what Dean needs/needed in his life - Benny for his warrior, fighter side and Charlie for his not-so-inner geek.

But you're right, he really needs to come back. And he and Cas need to have a conversation where Cas isn't crazy, so he can see why Dean made all that fuss about finding him in the first place.

The thing is that if you speak with a French accent to me I don't understand anything anymore and also I have a ridiculous crush on Sebastian Roché so he's second for me (I mean Cas is my favorite angel forever without question) but Gabriel would go third ;) I just was REALLY invested in Balthazar dammit. (Also I liked that Cas had a bff but as it seems I'm very fond of people in my otp having very protective bffs.)

Yeah exactly - also I don't think the witch dude from Friends With Benefits ever was in another ep - like, they mentioned that Dean and Sam knew him but he hadn't been in the show with his own episode, so I suppose he counts as a possible supporter now (with Aaron maybe). And yes omg they need more people than.. well, Kevin, Krissy and Charlie only, it's THREE PEOPLE FFS, HAVE A BIT MORE.

omg I <333 Dean/Charlie so much as well ♥ but really I just want Dean to have all the friendships so yeah he should totally keep the both of them since they totally match his needs when we're talking friends Cas has obviously gone into ( ... )

Oh, I was so invested in Balthazar too - I mean, you think we finally get a brother Cas can be, well, ::brothers:: with and then.... ::sniffles in memory:: If Dean and Sam can have friends outside of each other, so should Cas, who has lost just as much (if not more) as they have ( ... )

RIIIGHT sorry Garth D: I tend to forget about him because he was introduced in my Least Favorite Episode ever but yeah, there's him too XD I'm being too harsh on them ;) but yeah I love the idea of S&D settling in the new bunker and Sam doing the MoL thing while maybe Dean goes hunting with Cas and then people drop by there and they all watch LOTR together and shit ( ... )

That would be the ultimate ending, and wouldn't it just be great if the writers, instead of ending the series in blood and tears, as they are wont to do, gave them a happy ending like that? 99% unlikely, I know, but a girl can dream.

Balthazar may be gone, but he's not forgotten.

They passed the friends stage so long ago that you cannot watch (and understand) all of S7 and most of S6 without acknowledging that Dean and Cas are in love with each other. You just can't.

YES.

I don't think closing Heaven's gates will happen this time around - maybe next season? But, if it does, I think they have to leave at least one door open and guarded so that souls can pass back and forth between earth and heaven as necessary, since souls have to go SOMEWHERE when they die. (Oh, god, wouldn't that be tragic if the sacrifice that has to be made in the finale is Sam standing guard over that gate forever, allowing only the souls and not the angels to pass, becoming a sort-of-supernatural being himself? ::Has just made sob cry hysterically at
