1. First thing, quick fic rec for anyone who might be interested (idk how many on here are into both, but it's so brilliant I have to share):
this is an ASOIAF/Father Ted crossover where Stannis, Renly and Robert are priests living on Craggy Island and it's the most beautiful crossover that ever crossovered in every history of crossovers. Seriously

And angels. I'd have liked to have seen the dead angels in Purgatory. I guess you could make an arguement that, since they were never ensouled, they would never wind up there, whereas the monsters who do once had souls, but still. Balthazaar and Benny would be great - or both of them and Gabriel!
(On a side note, what do you think of the theory that's floating around that Gabe might have something to do with the video game-esque episode that's coming up in a few weeks? Because no one ever stays dead on SPN, not even angels, and the writers have know how much we all love him...)

I just got back from boot camp last week, so I've been out of the loop for a couple months, so I'm not really sure. It would be AMAZING if Gabriel comes back/has a part in that episode, but I'll survive (somehow) if he doesn't. Though he and Charlie could be another lethal mixture.... ::ponders ponderously::
But you're right, Benny and Dean must have looked together for months before they finally found Cas. Their bromance is one that truly should've been explored further by the writers.

That thing about RSJ being on set was around on tumblr like last week, but it was without source so I have no idea if it was a fake or not - I hope it's not though. :D this season they seemed to have understood that killing ALL supporting characters is bad so we can hope?
Siigh I wanted more of that too actually. And more Purgatory. I was into this bromance thing a lot D: especially when.. well I usually tend to ship it when they're close friends but with those two I was just like OMG THEIR FRIENDSHIP IS SO *PURE* AND BEAUTIFUL AND I WANT THEM TO BE BROS FOREVER so idk it was nice to just friendship it. XDD I can only hope that next year Benny comes back *and* that since Sam won't be as against it as he used to be they'll have their bromance again ;_;

I think they've finally gotten it into their heads that killing all the supporting cast is bad - I mean, how many people from past cases have we seen in the last few episodes of S8? The guy from "Man's Best Friend With Benefits" (though honestly I didn't remember him). Krissy. Meg (bad example). Charlie in "LARP and the Real Girl" and the upcoming episode. With luck, we'll see Aaron again.
As much as I loved the Benny/Dean bromance, though, the Dean/Charlie bromance is my new brotp. Both characters are just so perfect and so exactly what Dean needs/needed in his life - Benny for his warrior, fighter side and Charlie for his not-so-inner geek.
But you're right, he really needs to come back. And he and Cas need to have a conversation where Cas isn't crazy, so he can see why Dean made all that fuss about finding him in the first place.

Yeah exactly - also I don't think the witch dude from Friends With Benefits ever was in another ep - like, they mentioned that Dean and Sam knew him but he hadn't been in the show with his own episode, so I suppose he counts as a possible supporter now (with Aaron maybe). And yes omg they need more people than.. well, Kevin, Krissy and Charlie only, it's THREE PEOPLE FFS, HAVE A BIT MORE.
omg I <333 Dean/Charlie so much as well ♥ but really I just want Dean to have all the friendships so yeah he should totally keep the both of them since they totally match his needs when we're talking friends Cas has obviously gone into ( ... )

Balthazar may be gone, but he's not forgotten.
They passed the friends stage so long ago that you cannot watch (and understand) all of S7 and most of S6 without acknowledging that Dean and Cas are in love with each other. You just can't.
YES.
I don't think closing Heaven's gates will happen this time around - maybe next season? But, if it does, I think they have to leave at least one door open and guarded so that souls can pass back and forth between earth and heaven as necessary, since souls have to go SOMEWHERE when they die. (Oh, god, wouldn't that be tragic if the sacrifice that has to be made in the finale is Sam standing guard over that gate forever, allowing only the souls and not the angels to pass, becoming a sort-of-supernatural being himself? ::Has just made sob cry hysterically at
