Oh, I was so invested in Balthazar too - I mean, you think we finally get a brother Cas can be, well, ::brothers:: with and then.... ::sniffles in memory:: If Dean and Sam can have friends outside of each other, so should Cas, who has lost just as much (if not more) as they have.

There's Garth too. Don't' forget Garth. I mean, Kevin and Krissy and Charlie aren't exactly Bobby and Ellen and Jo and Rufus, but you've got to remember that so many hunters died during the Apocyalpse that there's really nobody left. Dean and Sam are THE veterans of of hunting, the most experienced that are left. Maybe with their new bunker they can sort of settle down into some sort of Men of Letters/Bobby-esque setup where they can hand out advice to/play FBI supervisors for the newbies more than hunt.

Cas is so obviously into boyfriend territory that I occasionally catch myself writing "Supernatural" instead of "Destiel" when I try to tag their ship on tumblr. But your right, Dean needs all the friends he can get, and he needs them to STOP DYING.

I obviously feel strongly about this.

IDK if rescuing Benny will ever be a plot in and of it's own, but Sam DID leave the portal between hell and purgatory open. So maybe if they close the gates of hell, the demons will still be able to get out that way, so they'll have to go into purgatory to close THAT hole too, and then they'll run into Benny and rescuing will happen. Maybe. Hopefully. Please.

RIIIGHT sorry Garth D: I tend to forget about him because he was introduced in my Least Favorite Episode ever but yeah, there's him too XD I'm being too harsh on them ;) but yeah I love the idea of S&D settling in the new bunker and Sam doing the MoL thing while maybe Dean goes hunting with Cas and then people drop by there and they all watch LOTR together and shit.

And YES YES THAT ABOUT BALTHAZAR DAMN IT Cas totally deserved someone who looked out mainly for him D: and I just really loved their relationship AND THEN THEY TOOK IT AWAY FROM MEEE NOOO DDD:

And hahahahahahahahahah YEAH GOOD POINT. Cas is so into boyfriend territory it's not even funny. Or at least platonic boyfriend. They passed the friends stage long ago...

Everyone should feel strongly about Dean having bffs.

Well they *do* have to do something next season if they close Heaven's gates this round (I doubt it, but still), and yes Sam YOU'RE A GENIUS, LEAVE THE DOOR TO HELL OPEN *facepalm* I'd really like it if they went there again though, so I'm totally into this 'let's go back into Purgatory, close every possible door and then let's get Benny out since we're at it.'

That would be the ultimate ending, and wouldn't it just be great if the writers, instead of ending the series in blood and tears, as they are wont to do, gave them a happy ending like that? 99% unlikely, I know, but a girl can dream.

Balthazar may be gone, but he's not forgotten.

They passed the friends stage so long ago that you cannot watch (and understand) all of S7 and most of S6 without acknowledging that Dean and Cas are in love with each other. You just can't.

YES.

I don't think closing Heaven's gates will happen this time around - maybe next season? But, if it does, I think they have to leave at least one door open and guarded so that souls can pass back and forth between earth and heaven as necessary, since souls have to go SOMEWHERE when they die. (Oh, god, wouldn't that be tragic if the sacrifice that has to be made in the finale is Sam standing guard over that gate forever, allowing only the souls and not the angels to pass, becoming a sort-of-supernatural being himself? ::Has just made sob cry hysterically at thought)
