Thanks fr the trip down memory lane with Deadwood! I just re-watched S1 and S2 and the language is one of the best parts.

There are some of those Italian movies I haven't watched yet. I also made a list of great Italian movies to a Danish friend a few days ago, so this is relevant to my interests. :D I adore Nanni Moretti, btw, his world's view is also mine.

I Soliti Sospetti, and Gassman in general, THE LOVE. I also recced to my friend Una Giornata Particolare as a pure masterpiece, it's incredible how beautiful that movie is to me.

Also, WHAT THE HELL ARE THOSE QUOTES. I didn't know Deadwood was slashy too, LOL.

PS: just watched some of the trailers you linked. OMG THAT ENGLISH DUBBING IS AWFUL...I think we are probably lucky as far as dubbing goes here in Italy, because JESUS. :/ How can someone like a movie, even if perfect, with THAT DUBBING? Checking out Il grande silenzio then, I can't believe I've missed this movie, looks like the kind of thing I usually adore!

GASSMANN. Indeed. Though Mastroianni would be my favorite out of that bunch. And nn Una giornata particolare is AWESOME. It didn't make the list here but I love it too.

DEADWOOD HAS A CANON FEMSLASH COUPLE. WATCH IT. IT'S PERFECTION. BEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN. ;)

Ugh. I know? I think dubbing should be abolished for a general rule, really, but yeah 70s English dubs were a lot worse than 70s Italian dubs (though now I think we suck equally lololol). And CHECK IL GRANDE SILENZIO. OH MY GOD IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL AND SO UNDERRATED AND IT TOTALLY HITS ALL MY BUTTONS. I'm pretty sure you'd like it too, lol. ;)

I haven't watched the last one, yet. You mean Habemus Papam, right? I also loved La stanza del figlio tbh...I don't know, something about his direction/world-view makes me appreciate everything he does. It's like he speaks to my brain directly

Yep, I mean that one. It's really good - I'd totally go and recommend it. And nn La stanza del figlio was great. (And Il caimano too - but if I think about that one I feel depressed. Sigh.) But yeah, word on that.

I DON'T KNOW. WE'RE DOING BETTER NOW BUT WE DID SUCK FOR A WHILE. And Sorrentino IS good.

I'm not a Benigni supporter when it comes to movies...I like him in other fields, but movie direction is definitely not his thing IMO.)... are you me? Because the only Benigni movies I really like are the ones where he isn't directing. XDD And I love everything else he does but I'm not his movie's biggest fan

I can't wait to hear your thoughts on Justified. God, Timothy Olyphant is insanely hot on that show. Okay, so he's always hot, but he's a special kind of hot when he's Raylan.

Al was the best. End of story. I loved him and everything he chose to be. More or less.

I need to watch it. It won't be until July because I have finals until then and I can't afford watching a new show, but it's totally the first I'm going for. I WANT TO WATCH IT DAMMIT.

It's kind of ridiculous that I couldn't just avoid having Damon & Alaric steal the entire show. XD BUT I LOVE THEM OKAY.
