1. First of all, BIRTHDAYS! Though er, I think I'm late for one but happy birthday darknumb and bobbinrob)!

^ buon compleanno a lei! Spero sia stata una bella giornata, scusa per il ritardo e ancora auguri! ;)

I know your day hasn't exactly started well (I hope the plane didn't have further delays?) but I hope it gets awesome as soon as possible. I hope you get said awesome day and the best possible next year! <3

2. So, I watched Flashforward.

Overall, I wasn't exactly too impressed with it but I didn't hate it either. I love the premise, I don't hate any character but I'm not loving anyone especially either (even though mm, Joseph Fiennes, you're hot. Not as hot as your brother, but still), I thought the pace was kind of weird and that everyone was taking things too calmly for the situation and I kind of snickered throughout the whole incident-crash sequence because it clearly came from a certain other sequence, but overall I think I'll watch some more before I decide whether I like it or whether it's meh. Even though I'll dread it if Genevieve Cortese turns out having a role which implies speaking more than two lines, but looks like it isn't happening for now so no problem, lol. Also, I want to see what Dominic Monaghan is going to end up doing on this anyway so I'll watch for now even if it wasn't love at first sight.

3. I also started watching Band of Brothers, about which I'll probably do an extensive post in three days when I finish it (well, it's ten eps, I have the dvds, it's two each disc so I'm going for a disc each day) and I'm pretty much loving it. Considering that I totally used to be and still am a complete WWII geek... and when I'm done it might actually put me in the mood to go and finish that certain fic. Which has to be finished in a month anyway, but still. It does help.

4. I think I managed to do my schedule for classes for this semester which starts next week. Mess, I tell you. Mess. Though I'm lucky I just have two classes overlapping once. Problem is that they're both stuff I really should not skip given that one gets one fifth of my grade and the other one isn't the subject I want to skip, but I guess I'll attend both and see which one I can sacrifice.

5. My aunt (who teaches English in high school) has seemingly decided to ask me to repeat the Bob Dylan gig of two years ago. Except that this round she wants me to go to her class and talk to her students about 1984 like next week. And possibly if she follows my advice and does some American literature, and if she follows my second advice and explains them some Steinbeck, I might be back there in January or so to entertain them on the relations between Grapes of Wrath Tom Joad and Springsteen's Tom Joad. Clearly option #2 is way less scary than #1 since if you get me talking about Springsteen I won't shut up, but next week? I think I need to prepare some lecture. That is a scary perspective but whatever, I did it once, I'll do it twice.

6. And since it's the quote day for the blasted meme, let's go with an Orwell one.

For one week, recommend/share:
Day 1: a song
Day 2: a picture
Day 3: a book/ebook/fanfic
Day 4: a site
Day 5: a youtube clip
->Day 6: a quote
Day 7: whatever tickles your fancy

To see what is in front of one's nose needs a constant struggle.

George Orwell

Which is brief and not the long-ass things I usually link but imo very, very true.

7. I think it's all for now. I'll probably see if I manage to catch up with some comments and then go to bed at a semi-decent hour, since considering that in one week I'll have classes I can't exactly afford one in the night anymore. *waves*

tv shows, stuff, meme, the random post, george orwell still owns and it's a fact, writing, birthday
