Forced festivity

So, after yesterdays bought of "ow-ow-hey-it-hurts-don't-feel-good" I'm doing much better thanks. Apparently all I needed was a hot bath and twelve straight hours of sleep. Who'da thunk? Of course this means I've got lots of stuff that's been left languishing.

1) Put down new sticky paper
2) Go to the store- milk, screws, extension cord
3) Iron clothes
4) Run dishwasher (again!)
5) Finish christmas shopping
6) Sort through desk items
7) Put up altar shelf

It's been somewhat slow round the office, so I decided to be a little goofy. Round my birthday, one of my friends made me a "paper doll" replica of the New Moon Edward cardboard cut out. Since I'm a grand master pack-rat, I throw out nothing when I can help it. So, Edward's become a part of the desk-scape here at the office. So, I decided to make him as festive as possible, because I could.

He looks ready to murder me, don't you think? It's now my goal to get Santa hats for the larger cardboard people at home too. I put hats on them ages ago, but I think they need seasonal ones. Namely because I want to use the hats they're wearing. Possibly something involving mistletoe would be cute.

It seems a little shocking how few days there are left till Christmas. I remember years when it seemed the day was dawdling on purpose. Now I feel bowled over by how fast the day bears down on me. 80% of the shopping's been done, which is really good! Just need to buy something for a pair of aunts, and something else for a pair of cousins. Then, I need to wrap absolutely everything. I also gotta mail Onesan's present, and cross my fingers that it gets there in time.

There's also the public Yule ritual coming up on the 21st. I've already got my donation (which is simply left over from Samhain), but I should really figure out what I'm going to bring to contribute to the feast. Decisions, decisions! Maybe I'll just be a heel and bring Christmas cookies and hope nobody notices.
