Janet/Jacob/Selmak Part III
Raknor paused, and Selmak immediately began flooding her host full of different chemicals. The pain faded quickly, his stress level decreased even as his pulse slowed. He felt tired, rather than buzzing with adrenalin.
SEL, I Don't want to be loopy right now! Jake snarled.
_It's bad news, Jacob. I can tell. You need to be able to concentrate on what he's saying_ Selmak retorted after smacking his brain with one of his flippers. _You're not my first host, remember? I've just finished breaking you in, and I don't want to break in a new host just because you run off and do something really STUPID_
Sel, you care? Jake quipped back, earning another whack from Selmak's flipper. I really should complain to someone about how you treat me.
_Pfffffffft!_ was his symbiote's elegant retort.
Fortunately, Jake and Selmak's internal conversation took only mere seconds, so they were listening when Raknor spoke again. Actually, when Raknor spoke, he was quickly interupted by another voice.
_Bra'tac?_ Selmak questioned. _This isn't good, Jake._
"Jacob Carter of the Tau'ri, Selmak of the Tok'Ra," Bra'tac's voice was formal.
"Cut to the chase, Bra'tac," Jake interupted.
"I must regretfully inform you that Baal has taken control of Hammond of Texas' compound," Bra'tac informed him. "Hammond of Texas and several others managed to make their escape, but it appears that your daughter and her team are now captives of Baal."
"Who escaped?" Jake questioned. "I want to talk to them. I need intel."
Bra'tac raised one expressive eyebrow, plainly not understanding exactly what Jacob meant, but having a good idea.
"We are in luck. Hammond of Texas escaped, but he is most severely injured. Fortunately, his doctor is taking care of him. Dr. Frasier believes that he'll be up and about in a few days."
"Take me to them, please," Jake requested. "I want to speak to both of them."
Wordlessly, Selmak gave him the equivalent of a mental hug.
_We'll get them out Jacob, I promise you._
