Delayed delays

Initially I had planned to work on the wadded winter jacket this Saturday and Sunday. Eisirt had an early shift this morning, which would leave me the house mostly to myself today. I had prepped the wadding to be quilted, and I sat down at my sewing machine.
It went great and the quilting was awesome. And then, so like Murphy, something broke.

My bobbin case somehow got loose in the bobbin carriage. Trust me when I say I had no idea these things were called this way, but you learn a lot of technical terms when you're Googling, hoping to find a solution, for half an hour.
Although I understand that it's horrible for a hobbyist to have a bird's nest bobbin case, I would have loved to find something, anything on Google, explaining what went wrong and how I can fix this. But sewing machine technicians have probably all taken a Vow of Secrecy, and the inner workings and secret fixes of sewing machines cannot be found on Google.

As much as I love that sewing, knitting and other crafts are getting some more exposure now that it's trending and hot and hip, it's quite demoralising to not find any clues on how to fix more advanced issues. Issues that can't be fixed with just re-threading the machine. (About 90% of the issues I can find with my Google search can all be fixed with a re-threading of the machine. I firmly believe my own machine is creating some of those issues just so I re-thread him once in a while. After all, I might get out of practice!)
Maybe I'm just crap at Google searches.

It's 11 am, I've got a full day of sewing that is now not going to be spent on sewing. I can do my paper homework, scrub the toilet, sweep the floors and knit a pair of socks, but I can't do ANY sewing.
I was already so far behind. Three weeks ago was the deadline for the men's shirt, and we'll be starting on the dress pants soon, and all I can think about is: it will be Thursday at the earliest before I can even drop off my sewing machine at the shop.

(And yes, at least it didn't happen two days before my sewing exams. But still. I had wanted to actually finish the lining today!)
