Big bangs again
¬¬¬So I've committed to sign up for the Merlin big bang. I'm trawling the kink meme prompts I've saved because I know there's something on there that will have legs enough to stand up to 30k.
I'm going to by-pass the hand-wringing and hair-pulling and the 'zomg I don't know if I can dooo it' because that's kind of counter-productive for me. Instead, I'm going to try being ... calm. And focused. And like ..... plan stuff.
We'll see how that goes for me, shall we?
I wavered over the Stargate big bang because I do like the idea of it but I’ll give it a pass this time around, I think. One 30k fic and o¬ne 15k fic should be more than enough to test my focus, yes?

I’ve been writing in a slightly … desultory fashion lately. Something about being on holiday destroys all of my good intentions. I did, however, finish the Borgia ficlet I was working on. Tis here, if it’s your thing: http://archiveofourown.org/works/321997
I’m also trying to (finally) catch up on some charity fics, so we’ll see how that goes. I’ve been let off some by some very generous-minded people, and I do appreciate that.
So once those are done, I think I’m going to sink into some planning.
Planning for the Merlin big bang (aside: I’d really like to do Merlin/Gwaine for it because they’re my Merlin OTP, but I’d ALSO like to do a canon-era magic reveal fic [yes I know but hush, there’s always room for more]) so I might end up combining those ideas.
I’m fully convinced that Merlin can still be 100% loyal to Arthur/help him build Albion AND have a ~knight of his very own to play with. (Double aside: this makes me want to have Gwen run off with Lancelot and have Arthur ~consoled by Leon. /end of aside.)
Or there’s a couple of modern Aus that I’ve saved from the kink meme that might work. I’m going to be grown-up about it and pick something soon, so I’m (theoretically) ready to go when the sign-ups go live.
Now. For my GYWO 15k challenge …. Any ideas?
