I decided to go to Wat Pho today (pictures will come soon) because i had the day off, and I've been wanting to go.
I can't just wait for someone to talk me all the time.
After a 45 minutes bus ride. asking 2 people for directions, and a 10 minute walk I made it.
I was sort of disappointed that foreigners have to pay 50 B to enter. I just wanted to go in and give flowers and leave. Since I was being treated like a tourist then, I decided to do touristy things and go to Kao Sarn Rd.
I had lunch at May Kaidee's again... I have a feeling that it will soon become my favorite restaurant in Bangkok. Then I walked around Bangkok and met a rather energetic seller. He kept asking me for my left over food?! Then he said that he would give me the shirt for 170 B because I spoke Thai to him. He said if you don't speak Thai the price is never lower than 200 B.
(I had asked about the shirt at a different seller and she said 280B ...then ok 250B). Then the usual Where are you from? Do you have a boyfriend? questions followed.
But.. the unsettling part of the trip was the way home...I couldn't find the bus stop so I was just going to take a cab. While waiting at the side of the road a man walked up and asked "where you going?" (where are you going is sort of like the Thai "how are you") So I said home. He said where.. Salaya..oh that's far..
Then he said...oh.. I'm so tired to wait for the bus. And there is a traffic jam. I know a guest house to take a rest. Want to take a rest?
ummmm....WTF!?! No thank you overly nice middle aged Thai man that is asking about if I have a boyfriend..where do you live...then come take a nap with me at a guest house?
I told him that..oh I don't speak Thai so well...and backed away. Then farther away... then left.
ewww.
On another note... ants decided to make a nest in my back jeans pocket. I had my jeans laid out to dry and I the dampness is something that ants like.
gross.
