Time to play a little bit of catch up...

Once again, I got spoiled for my birthday. Mom got me gift cards for cineplex (which I haven't used yet) and chapters, which I promptly used to buy Paris (good timing too, it was on sale for $18. Sadly, it's hard cover, and all my other Rutherfurd books are paper back, but for some reason even not on sale the HC is $5 cheaper than the PB). Also bought The Nine Old Men: The Flipbooks, which still hasn't shipped yet. And dad got me $100 Disney Store gift certificate, and a fancy new camera! It takes amazing shots, and I've been bugging the heck out of the cats with it... although Rustya's been pretty safe because he's outside all the time.

Last weekend was brilliant! On Saturday night we went to see Fellowship of the Ring, with live orchestra. Absolutely fantastic! So glad I have the movie… barely saw any of it because I was watching the musicians the whole time. That music is just incredible live. There were a few people who dressed up for it. Quite interesting to see guys walking around wearing really nice suits, a helmet, and a long beard. There were a number of elves running around, too.

On Sunday dad and I met up with some friends for Star Trek Into Darkness. Cannot begin to describe how amazing Star Trek was… just epic, everything I hoped for and more! Seriously can’t wait to see it again, so hopefully it plays here in town soon…

I was avoiding the Star Trek tag on tumblr because I didn't want any spoilers before I saw the movie (well, any more spoilers than I already knew, thank you people who don't tag...). Now I'm avoiding it because it's a war zone! Everyone's freaking out about racism and sexism (with lots of shower scene Ben thrown in). I understand where a lot of it's coming from, but everyone's throwing in their 2 cents and it's getting old fast.

After the movie we went out for supper at our favourite restaurant. And to finish off an already perfect day, we listened to Cabin Pressure the whole way home.

lord of the rings, cabin pressure, real life, concert, books, disney is my life, silly kitty, music, star trek
