Today I finally broke down and bought an iPod. My boy Jordan, a veteran iPod owner (he owns the 15GB one -- the one with the cool, discontinued buttons)helped me set it up and was a sweetheart to fill it with all the music from his computer. We had a fun debate over the usefulness/uselessness of my 40GB baby -- I was gushing over the possibility of not running out of space after 5 years (or more) of collecting music, while he argued that 15GB was far more than enough to expand one's music collection. We shall see. Anyway, while registering my iPod online, I was asked to name my iPod. I chose Emma. I'd always, for the last 8 years anyway, planned on naming my first born daughter Emma... until Rachel on Friends did so. What a disappointment that was. I've been convinced that I could still get away with my plan without too many people commenting on the name and its connection to Friends, but I'm still pretty iffy about it. So I've named my iPod Emma, knowing that it will be rare for anyone to address it by name.
After we fed Emma, Jordan and I watched Austin Powers 2, but just the Dr. Evil and Fat Bastard scenes. I forgot how funny those scenes are, and that I used to immitate Dr. Evil saying, "Oh, I know... That's how they do it in Belgium. It's called a 'Belgium Dip'." Oh yeah -- we watched the Will Farrell scene, too.
I need sleep. Nighty-night.
